SAMAR

I was reading about King David and his powerful prayers in Psalms where David repeatedly bares his heart to God. And every time God heard and answered him.

God hears and answers us, too.

According to the Institute for Creation Research God is our Samar—Hebrew to guard, to keep watch.

God is our protector.

He guards and keeps and watches over us without sleeping.

He never rests.

He is vigilant.

Psalm 121:3-8: He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever.

God promises!

He never fails.

He never loses.

With God as our Samar, neither can we.

Put on His armor every day (Ephesians 6:10) and gird with Truth, wear the breastplate of Righteousness, the shoes of Peace, carry the shield of Faith, put on the helmet of Salvation, and carry the sword of Holy Spirit (Word of God).

Now go and serve your mighty Protector!

Amen.
